  • The importance of embracing more innovative cultivation and stewardship practices

Attendees will be sorted into 2 groups according to how their office conducts meetings and events with adults and discuss what worked (keepers), what didn’t (dumpster fires), and how they are reconnecting and rebuilding as a community. The groups are:

  • Mostly on-campus and in-person meetings and events. Moderators: Amanda and Chris (Kon Tiki Room)
  • A mix of in-person and virtual meetings and events. Moderators: Jessica and Melanie (Aviary Room)
11:30 – 12:30 pm Advancement Exchange (Kon Tiki Room)
The Advancement Exchange is a show-and-tell for professionals. Schools will each have 3-4 minutes to share one of their favorite ideas/projects/tools. Everyone goes home inspired and loaded with lots of new ideas.

Phil Klein, Director of Development and Michael Ehrenfried, Chief Innovation Officer, Kent Denver School (CO); Erich Hunker, Assistant Head of School for Development/External Relations, Columbus Academy (OH); and Ginger Imster, Assistant Head of School for External Affairs, John Burroughs School (MO)
The workshop will focus on how to use emergent strategic planning to make a school’s Development planning process more responsive to changes that every school faces during the course of a school year.
