Over the past 10 years, INDEX schools have added staffing to virtually all departments. In the analysis below, the staffing for each school has been standardized to a 1,000-student school (or in the case of Division Administrators to Median Divisional Enrollment), and while this is not an exact measure of each school’s staffing levels, it does provide a reasonable assessment of the direction and scope of change. It is also important to note that in each department below (with the possible exception of the Division Administrators), the increase in FTEs comes without any increase in student enrollment.
10 Additional Teacher FTEs
In 2013, INDEX schools averaged 111 Teacher and Assistant Teacher FTEs per 1,000 students. By 2023, this had grown to 121 Teachers, or an increase of 10 FTEs.
2 Additional Division Administrator FTEs
In 2013, INDEX schools averaged 10.4 Division Administrator and Staff FTEs per median divisional enrollment. By 2023, this had grown to 12.4, or an increase of 2 FTEs.
1.3 Additional Admissions FTEs
In 2013, INDEX schools averaged 4.3 Admissions FTEs per 1,000 students. By 2023, this had grown to 5.6, or an increase of 1.3 FTEs.
1.2 Additional Business Office FTEs
In 2013, INDEX schools averaged 5.9 Business Office FTEs per 1,000 students. By 2023, this had grown to 7.1, or an increase of 1.2 FTEs.

In 2013, INDEX schools averaged 2.4 Marketing & Communications FTEs per 1,000 students. By 2023, this had grown to 3.6, or an increase of 1.2 FTEs.
