Tuitions Up 5%

Tuition increases at INDEX schools are up nearly 5% in 2024-25. This makes the second year in a row where tuitions have risen close to 5%.

Enrollment Flat

Enrollment at INDEX schools held flat year-over-year and since 2019-2020 has grown 2.4%. However, as discussed at our Annual Conference, growth rates differ significantly by school size and structure.

Enrollment Capacity at 97%

Enrollment capacity (total enrollment/capacity enrollment) is 97% at INDEX schools. Enrollment capacity for the lower, middle, and upper divisions has remained constant over the last 5 years, while the pre-school has moved from 94% to 98% capacity – now the highest of all 4 divisions.

Financial Aid Applications Up 3.2%

Total financial aid applications at INDEX schools are up 3.2%, and total eligiblefinancial aid applications are up 2.1% year-over-year.

Need-Based Aid Ratio Stable at 14%

For the 3rd year in a row, need-based aid as a percentage of gross tuition revenue has hovered at just under 14%.  

Total Financial Aid Ratio Stable at 17.5%

Total financial aid (need-based aid, tuition remission, and no-need awards) as a percentage of gross tuition revenue is also stable. This ratio has hovered around 17.5% for the last 3 years.
